Paramount Skydance Will Eliminate Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – Update

Paramount Skydance will start significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a expense reduction strategy worth $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional overseas workforce reductions are expected, with the company aiming to announce all specifics via its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.

Previous updates stated the firm planned to eliminate from 2,000 to 3,000 jobs before the start of November.

As of December 2024, the company employed about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 project-based staff.

Paramount Skydance has not yet commented to a request for comment.
