Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Fronds at Popular California Beach
A chopper flying above a well-attended California coastline unexpectedly began spiraling uncontrollably, ultimately descending rapidly and smashing into a row of palm groves as spectators looked on.
Videos posted on social media depict the chopper beginning to twirl over the beach then plunging in the direction of the border of the beach, where it ends up lodged among palm trees and a steps adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Information
Local firefighters said five people were taken to hospital including two who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the crash on that day.
Three people on the pavement were hurt. Details on their injuries were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.

Authorities said the helicopter was linked to an annual “Cars and Copters” fundraising event planned for the following day.
